Absolutely No Entries Accepted After Deadline

  1. Entry forms and fees, NOT ITEMS FOR EXHIBIT (with the exception of Photography) will be accepted Thursday, August 21, & Friday, August 22, from 1:00pm to 7:00pm, and Saturday August 23 from 10m-1pm at the Memorial Arena behind Centenoka Park Mall. Entry forms may also be mailed to the Salmon Arm Fair Association, Box 101, Salmon Arm, B.C. V1E 4N2, received not later than August 22. Late entries will not be accepted.

    Photography: exhibits must accompany the entry form, with final deadline being Friday, August 22.

    Local 4-H: entry forms must be submitted to Salmon Arm 4-H Council by August 11.

    Any errors on the entry form are the responsibility of the exhibitor.

  2. Association membership. All exhibitors 17 years and under (except preschoolers) must have an exhibitor's ticket of $10 or a membership. Either the membership or exhibitor's ticket provides admittance to the Fair for all three days. No memberships will be sold from August 1 to September 30. 4-H MEMBERS ENTERING OPEN CLASSES MUST PAY AN ENTRY FEE AND HAVE AN EXHIBITOR'S TICKET.

  3. With the exception of livestock, poultry and photography classes, ONE ENTRY ONLY will be accepted in each class from each exhibitor.

  4. Delivery of Exhibits: Late entries will not be accepted. Unless otherwise noted, exhibits must be brought to the Memorial Arena between 12:00pm - 7:00pm Wednesday, September 3rd .

    All indoor exhibits: (except flowers, photography, arts & crafts, and preschool potpourri) must be brought into the Memorial Arena.

    Arts & Crafts (A1) and Preschool Potpourri (C5): must obtain the exhibitor tickets at the Memorial Arena, then take the exhibits and tickets to the Just For Kicks Dance Studio (Quonset Hut).

    Flowers (B3): must obtain exhibitor tickets from the Memorial Arena, then take the exhibits and tickets to the Just For Kicks Dance Studio (Quonset Hut). Times are from 6pm-8pm on Wednesday, September 3rd, or before 12:00 noon on Thursday, September 4th.

    Photography (A5): exhibits must accompany entry form, and be submitted during the registration dates as specified in Rule #1.

  5. Pick-up of Exhibits: All exhibits must remain on site until 5:00pm Sunday. Removal of exhibits before that time will result in forfeiture of prize money.All exhibits must be picked-up at 5pm on Sunday. If the exhibitor cannot pick up his/her exhibit, please make arrangements for someone else to do so. The Fair Association will not be responsible for items left after 6:00pm on Sunday, and cannot be held liable for any loss.

  6. Animal exhibits must be on the grounds by 9:00 a.m. Friday, September 5, and must remain until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 7. Failure to follow these rules will result in the forfeiture of prize money.

  7. Exhibitors criticizing or interfering with the judges while in the ring or on the exhibition grounds, will automatically have their entry disqualified.

  8. In all classes, it will be left to the judge's discretion to award prizes as he or she sees fit. In the event of there not being sufficient prize money to pay prizes in full, directors reserve the right to pay prizes on a pro rata basis.

  9. Prizes: Prizes for Division A & B will be paid in cash during the fair. Prizes for other Divisions will be made by cash or cheque within thirty days from the last date of the Fair. Please cash all cheques promptly! Stale-dated cheques or prize money not claimed will be considered a donation to the Fair Association. If any errors or omissions are made in prize awards, the Fair office must be notified in writing within 2 weeks of the date of prize cheque.

  10. All exhibits, during the Fair and until removal from the premises, are at the risk of the owners, in case of loss or damage of any extent or by any cause.

  11. Parking: (This does not apply to campers, which must purchase a Camping Pass; see below.) A 3-day Parking Pass is available at $5.00 per unit (Truck with trailer = 2 parking units, $10). Parking on the grounds is restricted to vehicles and livestock/supply trailers belonging to livestock and commercial exhibitors. Passes can be purchased with registration or at Blackburn Gate. No parking will be permitted on the grounds except in designated areas, and all vehicles/trailers within these areas must display a Parking Pass. Failure to comply will result in being towed at owner's expense. Livestock feed or concession supplies may be unloaded within the grounds before 9:30am only.

  12. Camping: A 3-day Camping Pass is available at $10.00 per unit (Truck with tent-trailer = 1 parking unit plus 1 camping unit, $15), (Truck with mounted camper = 1 camping unit, $10). Camping on the South Grounds is restricted to campers, camping trailers or motor homes belonging to livestock and commercial exhibitors. No hook-ups are available. Each unit must purchase and display a Camping Pass. Passes can be purchased with registration or at Blackburn Gate.

  13. Dogs: Only Guide dogs plus those entered into either the Mutt Show competition or the 4H Dog Division will be permitted on the fair grounds. These dogs must be on a proper leash and will not be permitted in any livestock area.

  14. Any complaints must be made within 3 days. Protests must be made in writing, accompanied by a fee of $20, which will be returned if the protest is sustained.

  15. ADMISSION to the Fair for other than members or exhibitors:

    Adults: $10 per day
    Seniors (65 and over) $8 per day
    Students (6 ­ 17 years): $8 per day
    Children (5 years & under): Free
    Family (2 Adults, 2 or more children) $25
    Three-day Passes Adults: $20
      Students and Seniors: $16
  16. GATE TIMES:

    Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
    Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.



    Note: Blackburn Gate will open at 6:30am for spectator admittance for the early Horse Shows.
